"Buster" the dog portrait

This is "Buster" a much loved and missed family companion. The Mills family requested a portrait for a surprise birthday present for their Dad! I really struggled with this commission to begin with, until I decided to focus on what I love!  I love the detail of eyes, ears and noses.  I love to build the texture of the nose and the shape and reflection of the eye as well as the softness of the ears.  Once I decided to work on what I loved the painting become a real joy and "Buster" started to emerge from the canvas just as I wanted him to.  If you would like to discuss a special portrait please do contact me for a range of options for you to consider (size, style, budget)
