About Sam

Sam Morris is an artist and illustrator who tells stories through expressive mark-making, layered textures, and rich colour. She’s fascinated by the quiet moments that connect us—small gestures, fleeting expressions, and the way everyday life holds deeper meaning. Her projects range from large scale community projects, illustrated books to immersive paintings, often blending observation with imagination, inviting viewers into narratives of resilience and transformation. Alongside her studio practice, she teaches online and in-person workshops, helping others explore storytelling through paint. Whether sketching on location or building up layers in the studio, Sam’s work captures the stories hidden in the world around us.
