This quietly evocative piece is part of a collaborative series between abstract artist Christina Sadler and narrative painter Sam Morris.

The painting began with Christina’s intuitive, atmospheric layers—soft washes, shifting textures, and a palette that echoes the quiet moods of changing weather and water. Responding to the energy and emotion within the abstract, Sam introduced a quiet story: a lone deer watches as a paper boat drifts into its world, golden leaves caught in the current.

Together, the two approaches create a piece that feels both grounded and dreamlike. It holds stillness, movement, and the possibility of meaning—inviting the viewer to pause and wonder.

Part of the Cotswold Story collection, created for the artist’s pop-up studio at the Cotswold Designer Outlet.

This original painting has been created with mixed media on a cotton box framed canvas.  It will arrive ready to hang with it's own certificate of authenticity.
